Theme: Arrivals of foreign teachers

Guests: Anna Christine Trochut-Průša from the Pavel Tigrid Languages High School in Ostrava and Chris Hopkinson from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ostrava. The musical guest of the evening was Vlastimil Ondruška and his jazz Voctail.

The 5th Evening of Ostrava Arrivals

17 June at 6 pm at the Old Arena on Masaryk Square

Theme: Arrivals of sports figures

Guests: Josef Mikoláš, one of the best Czechoslovak goalies, and Verner Lička, an outstanding member of our football representation and now the manager of the FC Baník football club. The musical guest of the evening was songwriter Pepa Streichl, and the host was literary scholar Pavel Hruška.

The 4th Evening of Ostrava Arrivals

27 May at 6 pm at the Old Arena on Masaryk Square  

Theme: Political arrivals

Guests: Leo Žídek, the chairman of the Ostrava Confederation of Political Prisoners, whose first encounter with Ostrava was through the barred windows of the remand prison, and Lumír Čermák, who arrived in Ostrava in 1939 when his native Orlová was occupied by Polish forces. And Dorotka Palkovská remembered her father, who after the October Revolution in 1917 fled Ukraine from the Bolsheviks, who had murdered his entire family. The musical guest was virtuoso jazz pianist Vlastimil Šmída.

Guests: Zdenka Crkvenjaš, the head of the Burn Unit at the University Hospital Ostrava, and David Feltl, chief of the Oncology Clinic at the same hospital. soprano Eva Dřígová with piano accompaniment by Michal Bárta.
